ABOUT
I am an freelance illustrator from Melbourne who creates works of botanical or natural history subjects, also children's books and illustrated maps, usually by commision. I also like to sell prints of my work, such as illustrated maps, botanical and natural history art. They can make fabulous images for contemporary interiors.
My artwork is usually intricate and detailed. It is often watercolour because that's an ideal medium for the fine detailed work that I like. I often refine the artwork digitally. The influences of my style encompasses many factors, including aspects of Japanese aesthetics, many contemporary fine artists and classic children's book illustrators.

I studied at St Martins College of Art in London before embarking on a career in illustration. I have created works for many clients including public and private commissions, advertising and publication. I have received a few awards including the coveted Gold Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society. London.
I have works in public and private collections in the US, UK, AUS, and NZ.
Today I work across various mediums. I usually combine traditional techniques, often beginning in watercolour and then augmented with a digital overlay, this gives a quality of familiarity and warmth. My current projects include, illustrated maps, work for the Werribee River Association and an exciting new project, a children’s book filled with iconic animal characters and their adventures beside an iconic Australian River.
